World Sports Betting joined in on the giving of the day at this year’s Emperors Palace Charity mile. The annual event took place on 31 Oct and is famous for linking celebrities and charities to racing. This year, Alec Laird trained Bouclette Top was the winner of the Gr2 R1 Million main race and the lucky charity attached to him was the Thembakazi Primary After Care Centre, represented on the day by TV presenter Jonathon Boynton-Lee. The Thembakazi Primary After Care Centre received R150 000 for the win but they were not the only winners of the day…

As the official sponsors of the Java Handicap on the day, The World Sports Betting team was on course to share in the generosity. Through a lucky draw, 2 charities were selected to each receive R25 000 from World Sports Betting.

The San Michele Home was one of the lucky winners, along with the Highveld Horse Care unit. “We are honored to be able to support these 2 great charities.” Said World Sports Betting’s national operations manager Ricky Tannous. “We have a great history with the Horse Care unit and San Michele’s work in providing support to intellectually and physically disabled individuals in nothing short of inspiring.”
