The main man Junior Khanye, previews this weekend’s Nedbank Cup quarter final action
Tshakuma v Supersport
Supersport United – Win
Supersport United is a very experienced team in the DSTV Premiership, even though they may have lost key players like Tebogo Mokoena, and have just suspended their star player in Sipho Mbule, and also the team signing Aubrey ngoma however, it has been a while since we’ve seen him play competitive football. With everything been said, the team still remain favorites in this matchup based on their experience and the profile the team has in the DSTV Premiership. They have won a few trophies and the team has in the DSTV Premiership. They have won a few trophies and the team remains motivated because of their financial backing.
Tshakuma is a team from Glad Africa Champions league, that is not even in the top 5. I believe that the technical team is still learning and they are not at a level where they can compete with Supersport United. I’ve seen them play in their league, and they only have a few good players, but are still no match for Supersport united.
Sundowns v Summerfield
Sundowns- Win
Sundowns is a quality side that will approach every game professionally, regardless of the level of their opponents. I see Sundowns teaching Summerfield a lesson or two on what it means to dominate a game and score.
I see a heavy score-line between the two teams.
I don’t know much about this team but their standard of football already tells me a lot, given the fact that the team plays in the ABC Motsepe league.
They may have worked hard and gone the extra mile to be in their position, but you need to look at your opponent to determine the outcome. I don’t see Summerfield beating Sundowns based on the fact that Sundowns is one of the top 3 teams in Africa vs a team in the ABC Motsepe
Baroka v Marumo Gallants
Marumo Gallants- Win
Marumo Gallants is a team that is very fluid, with a 3-4-3 system that is similar to that of Sundowns. They have players that are comfortable in the middle, they can score and have a quality coach that took the best out of the players
Baroka is considered to be an unprofessional team with a coach that may have come out of the Glad Africa Championships with his team but he still has a lot to learn about football. The team has many players from the ABC Motsepe league and the players from the Glad Africa champion
Royal AM v Pretoria University
Royal AM – Win
Royal AM is a quality side with the same players that were in the Bloemfontien Celtic side and have players that are wanted by big teams, players like Letswalo who is highly motivated, so he’ll want to prove a point every time he plays and is also surrounded by the likes of Kabelo Mahlasela, who came from Kaizer Chiefs and would also like to prove a point and is also gain back his confidence, he’s comfortable where he is now because he’s a star player there.
Potsane may be a little bit off form, but he was wanted by Sundowns some time ago but he is doing really well for Royal AM.
Coach John Maduka is a coach that believes in fluidity in football and was the assistant coach for Steve Komphela and believes in the same philosophy.
As a team they are happy, with a Chairman that pays good money to players and the technical team. That is why they are #2 in the DSTV Premiership.
Pretoria University are not far in the Glad Africa League, but who are they facing??
