Junior Khanye’s analysis and picks for this weekend’s football action.

Sundowns v Stellenbosch

  • Sundowns – Win

Sundowns are the current raining defending champions of the DSTV Premiership, with a strong, organized, and professional team.

Stellenbosch is a team that has improved compared to last season, with the best front 3 that the league has to offer. My only concern, however, would be the team’s defense, as well as the goal-keeping department.

Since Sundowns has quality players in all departments, I do not see Stellenbosch winning this one.

Sekhukhune v Kaizer Chiefs

Sekhukhune- Draw or win

Sekhukhune has not been doing well in the league, especially in the second round. The team is indeed struggling due to the fact that they have signed high-profile players without knowing how to utilize their skills effectively in the field of play.

Kaizer Chiefs are facing many problems too, from management right down to the players. The team still lacks quality players on the pitch. Arthur Zwane understands the players but still needs the experience to be the head coach of a team like Kaizer Chiefs.

It’s either both teams play to a draw or Sekhukhune wins this matchup 1-0

Orlando Pirates v AL Ahly Tripoli

Orlando Pirates – Win

Based on the last match AL Ahly Tripoli had with Orlando Pirates, it can be safe to say that the team is not strong enough to compete with a team like Pirates. They fail in all departments. The team is also not strong technically and tactically and we can’t expect much from a team that fails to impress when playing at home.

Orlando Pirates is highly motivated, especially after their 2-0 win away. I see Pirates winning this one. They may have their own challenges but the team has strong players individually but the coach fails to make combinations with the players.

Swallows v Chippa

This is going to be a tight game for both teams because they are both in the relegation zone. Swallows have financial issues and I really expected better from the team on the technical side. I can tell that they want to survive relegation. They do have individual players that can make a difference, but the management does play a big role in the outcome, but I’m sure they’ll do better this time around.

Chippa’s coach does not have enough experience to beat Swallows as he was just a player recently, so I see Swallows winning this one.
