English Premier League Betting Preview, Saturday 8 October
October 5, 2022

There are 5 English Premier League fixtures taking place on Saturday and we suggest a bet in each of them.

A reminder that the English Premier League long-term markets are updated throughout the season and Manchester City are currently trading as 1/4 favourites.

Bournemouth v Leicester – Click here to bet

Bournemouth are currently 13th on the log and have drawn 3 and won 1 of their last 4 matches. They face a Leicester side currently 2nd from bottom, but coming off their first win of the season, a convincing 4-0 victory over Nottingham at home.

Bournemouth matches have averaged 3.1 goals this season while Leicester’s are the highest scoring in the Division, averaging 4.5 goals each with 7 of the 8 matches reaching the 3 goal mark.  Leicester’s last 3 games have had 19 goals in them and I am looking for more goals in this one.

Suggested Bet:  Over 3.5 goals at 39/20

Chelsea v Wolves – Click here to bet

Chelsea are 5th on the log and have won 3 of their last 4 matches including beating Palace 2-1 on the road last time out.  They face a Wolves side currently down in 18th on 6 points from 8 matches and they are coming off back-to-back defeats away at West Ham and at home to Manchester City.

Chelsea’s last 6 games have all had 3 goals exactly in them and I am betting that we get 2 or 3 in this matches.

Suggested Bet:  Goal Range 2-3 at 1/1

Manchester City v Southampton – Click here to bet

Manchester City are 2nd on the table and yet to taste defeat this season. Last time out they hammered Manchester United 6-3 at home and they have a 100% record at home this season scoring 20 goals and conceding just 5 in 4 matches.

Southampton are currently 16th on the table and they have lost their last 3 matches in succession, most recently 2-1 at home to Everton.  Their last away game was a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Manchester City has such depth in their squad that all the European action they are involved in shouldn’t worry them.  Given they are averaging 5 goals a game at home I am happy to take them to score 4 or more here.

Suggested Bet:  Manchester City Total goals over 3.5 at 5/4.

Newcastle v Brentford – Click here to bet

Newcastle are currently 7th on the log with just 1 defeat in their opening 8 matches.  They got only their second win of the season last time out though when they beat Fulham 4-1 on the road and at home this season they have drawn 3 and won 1 of their 4 games.

Brentford are 10th on the table with just 1 win in their last 5 starts, but last time out they played to a goalless draw at Bournemouth.  They have yet to win on the road this season.

Newcastle are starting to look like the team I expected them to be this season and I am going to keep it simple here and go for a home win.

Suggested Bet:  Newcastle United win at 5/6

Brighton v Tottenham – Click here to bet

Brighton are 4th on the table, 3 points behind 3rd placed Tottenham, but with a game in hand.  They have only lost 1 match this season and last time out drew 3-3 away at Liverpool.  Their last home game was in early September when they beat Leicester 5-2.  Tottenham suffered their first defeat of the season last time out, going down 3-1 away at Arsenal.

Goals have flowed in both these teams recent matches and I am a little bit surprised to be getting 10/11 about over 2.5 goals in this game.

Suggested Bet:  over 2.5 goals at 10/11
