English Premier League Betting Preview, Sunday 9 October
October 6, 2022

There are 4 English Premier League matches taking place on Sunday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Manchester City head into the weekend as 1/4 favourites to defend their title and you can click here for all of the long-term markets including to be Relegated, to finish Top 4 and the Golden Boot award.

Crystal Palace v Leeds – Click here to bet

Crystal Palace are currently 17th on the log and without a win in their last 4 starts.  Last time out they were beaten 2-1 at home to Chelsea going down to an injury time winner.

Leeds are currently 12th on the log and also without a win in their last 4 starts drawing 0-0 at home to Aston Villa last time out.  Their last two away games have ended in defeat to Brentford and Brighton.

I expect to see Crystal Palace climbing up the table and I will back them to get 3 points at home here.

Suggested Bet:  Crystal Palace win at 23/20

West Ham v Fulham – Click here to bet

West Ham are recovering from a slow start and they currently sit 15th on the log and last time out beat Wolves 2-0 at home, just their second win of the season.

Fulham are currently 8th on the table with 3 losses and 2 wins in their last 5 starts.  Last time out they went down 4-1 at home to Newcastle and their last away game was a 2-1 defeat to Spurs.

Over 2.5 goal backers would have collected in 7 of the 8 Fulham matches, but in only 1 of the 8 West Ham matches this season.

West Ham appear to be getting into their stride and with conflicting stats from these sides as far as the goal markets go, I am going to stick with a straight win bet and go for the Hammers to collect 3 points.

Suggested bet:  West Ham win at 15/20

Arsenal v Liverpool – Click here to bet

This is without doubt the clash of the weekend and puts top of the table, Arsenal against 9th placed Liverpool who are trying to recover after a slow start to the season.

The Gunners have won 7 and lost 1 of their 8 matches and bounced back from defeat away to Manchester United with a 3-0 win at Brentford and a 3-1 home win over Tottenham.

Liverpool have only lost 1 match this season, but have had 4 draws in their 7 games and they are coming off successive draws 3-3 at home to Brighton and a goalless draw away at Everton.

7 of the 8 Arsenal games have delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers and 5 of the 7 Liverpool games have reached the 3 goal mark.  Liverpool have won their last 4 League matches against Arsenal, but I love the way the Gunners are playing this season and I am taking them to break that run with a victory here.

Suggested Bet:  Arsenal win at 16/10

Everton v Manchester United – Click here to bet

Everton are currently 11th on the table and they are undefeated in their last 6 matches including back-to-back wins in their most recent outings away to Southampton and at home to West Ham.  Manchester United are 6th on the table and saw a 4 match winning streak ended when they lost 6-3 away to Manchester City last weekend.  Their last two away games were 1-0 victories over Leicester and Southampton.

Everton home games have been amongst the lowest scoring in the Division averaging just 1.8 goals each with only 2 of the 8 matches reaching the 3 goal mark.  United games have averaged 3.6 goals each with 5 of the 7 netting you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.

I am expecting fireworks in the Arsenal v Liverpool game, but not so much in this fixture and I am looking at under 2.5 goals here, a result which would have arrived in both meetings last season.

Suggested Bet:  Under 2.5 goals at 1/1
