World Cup 2022 Group H Matchday 2 Betting Preview
November 28, 2022

The second round of Group H World Cup matches takes place on Monday and we take a look at both games from a betting angle.

Portugal are currently trading as 2/7 favourites to win the Group with Uruguay 15/4, you can get 10/1 the Republic of Korea and 28/1 Ghana.

As far as the Outright Winner Market goes, Portugal are trading at 12/1 and Uruguay 66/1.

REPUBLIC OF KOREA v GHANA

REPUBLIC OF KOREA

The Republic of Korea played out a goalless draw against Uruguay in their opener, not a bad result for them as they were trading as 3/1 underdogs heading into the match.  They are undefeated in their last 4 Internationals and they have not conceded in their last 3 games.

GHANA

Ghana played a thrilling match against Portugal in their opener, but eventually went down 3-2.  Portugal opened the scoring by a Ronaldo penalty, but Ghana levelled only to concede again just a few minutes later.  Ghana looked in good form heading into the World Cup with a victory over Switzerland in their warm-up match.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

These sides met in a friendly International in 2014 with Ghana winning 4-0.

Republic of Korea 15/10

Draw 85/40

Ghana 21/10

Suggested Bet:  Ghana win at 21/10

I though Ghana would be favourites for this match based on their performance against Portugal and I make the 21/10 that they win the game the value bet of the round.

PORTUGAL v URUGUAY

PORTUGAL

Portugal came out on the right side of a thrilling 3-2 victory over Ghana in their opener with all of the goals coming in the last 25 minutes, it was certainly a tougher task than their 3/10 starting price suggested.  Portugal had also looked sharp in their 4-0 warm-up victory over Nigeria.

URUGUAY

Uruguay were 8/10 favourites  to win their opener against the Republic of Korea, but they were held to a goalless draw and looked second best for much of the contest.  Uruguay’s last 3 International fixtures have had 2 goals or less in them.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

These sides met in the World Cup in 2018 with Uruguay winning the match 2-1

Portugal 1/1

Draw 12/5

Uruguay 3/1

Suggested Bet – Over 2.5 goals at 11/10

Portugal looked very good going forward against Ghana, but they were also vulnerable at the back and with Uruguay under some pressure to get the win I think this could be an open game with plenty of goals.
