English Premier League, Betting Preview Saturday 4 March
March 3, 2023

There are 7 English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and we suggest a bet in each of them.

Manchester City v Newcastle – Click here to bet

Manchester City are currently 2nd on the log, 5 points behind Arsenal with both teams having 13 matches left to play.  They are in decent form in the League with 3 wins and a draw in their last 4 games.  Their last home game was a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Newcastle are 5th on the log, but on a poor run that has seen them have 3 draws and a loss in their last 4 games.  Last time out they lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool and they have drawn their last 3 away matches and only lost once on the road this season.

Newcastle are struggling at the moment and I am looking for Manchester City to win this one by more than a goal.

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Manchester City -1 at 23/20

Arsenal v Bournemouth – Click here to bet

Arsenal seem to have recovered from a wobbly patch and sit top of the table after 3 successive victories including a 4-0 home win over Everton last time out.

Bournemouth are 2nd from bottom of the table with just 1 win in their last 5 games and they lost 4-1 at home to Manchester City in their last match.

Arsenal beat Bournemouth 3-0 on the road in the reverse fixture and I see no reason why they can’t dish out a similar hiding here.

Suggested Bet:  Arsenal Total Goals over 2.5 at 1/1

Aston Villa v Crystal Palace – Click here to bet

Aston Villa are currently 11th on the table on 31 points, 1 position and 4 points ahead of Crystal Palace in 12th.  Villa broke a 3 match losing streak when they beat Everton 2-0 on the road last time out.

Crystal Palace come into this match without a win in their last 8 starts and having drawn 5 of their last 6.  Last time out they got a goalless home draw against Liverpool.

Crystal Palace won the reverse fixture 3-1 at home, but I am looking for Aston Villa to turn the tables with a win against a struggling Palace side.

Suggested Bet:  Aston Villa win at 11/10

Brighton v West Ham – Click here to bet

Brighton are currently 8th on the log with 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss in their last 5 starts.  Last time out they went down 1-0 at home to Fulham.

West Ham are 16th on the log after a much needed 3 points last time out when they beat Nottingham 4-0 at home.  Their away form has been shaky though and they have only won 1 of 12 matches on the road this season.

Brighton won the reverse fixture 2-0 at West Ham and last season this fixture finished 3-1 to Brighton.

Brighton are battling a bit, but I am going to bet West Ham on the handicap here meaning they need to get a least a point out of the game for me to collect.

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, West Ham +0.5 goals at 21/20

Chelsea v Leeds – Click here to bet

Chelsea are currently 10th on the log and without a win in their last 5 starts.  They have had back-to-back losses away at Tottenham and at home to Southampton.  Chelsea have only scored 1 goal in their last 5 games.

Leeds are 17th on the log after a much needed victory last time out when they beat Southampton 1-0.  That broke an 11 match run without a victory in the League.

Leeds beat Chelsea 3-0 at home in the reverse fixture and Chelsea did the double over Leeds last season.

This fixture has a history of goals in them and I am looking for over 2.5 goals for a profit.

Suggested Bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 17/20

Wolves v Tottenham – Click here to bet

Wolves go into this fixture 15th on the log with just 1 point from the last 9 they played for.  Last time out they lost 2-0 away at Liverpool and their last home game was a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Tottenham are 4th on the log with 4 victories in their last 5 starts, 3 of those victories came at home though and their last away match was a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Leicester.

Tottenham edged the reverse fixture 1-0 at home and last season it was the away team which won on each occasion.

There probably won’t be much in this game, but I am going for Tottenham to get a valuable 3 points on the road.

Suggested Bet:  Tottenham win at 5/4

Southampton v Leicester – Click here to bet

Southampton are currently bottom of the log with 2 wins and 8 losses in their last 10 matches.  Last time out they lost 1-0 away at Leeds and their last home game was a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Leicester are currently 14th on the log and saw a 3 match unbeaten run ended with back-to-back defeats away at Manchester United and at home to Arsenal.

Southampton beat Leicester 2-1 away from home earlier in the season and last season Leicester won this fixture 4-1.

I must say I am a bit surprised to be getting 33/20 about a Leicester win here.  Their last 3 games have been against tough opposition and Southampton have shown me nothing to suggest they shouldn’t be underdogs for this fixture.

Suggested Bet:  Leicester City win at 33/20
