DSTV Premiership Betting Preview 1st April
March 29, 2023

We take a look at the 4 DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Saturday and suggest a bet in each game.

A reminder while have Mamelodi Sundowns have the Title very much wrapped up, World Sports Betting have priced up on a “Without Sundowns” Market meaning you are effectively betting on which team will come 2nd.  SuperSport United are currently the 17/10 favourites ahead of Orlando Pirates at 22/10, you can get 5/2 Kaizer Chiefs and 14/1 and better the balance.

Richards Bay v Orlando Pirates – Click here to bet

Richards Bay were 2nd on the log for quite some time, but they are in free fall without a win in their last 7 and having lost their last 5 games in a row including a 4-0 away defeat at TS Galaxy last time out, they are now 6th on the log and they face 3rd placed Orlando Pirates who have won 3 of their last 4 and beat SuperSport United 1-0 at home in their last game.

Richards Bay home games have averaged just 1.1 goals each with only 1 of their 11 matches reaching the 3 goal mark and only 2 of the 11 Pirates games have delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers.

Under 2.5 goals is an obvious pick here, but at 4/9 it is too short for my pocket and I am going to go with an Orlando Pirates victory as Richards Bay seem to be in free fall.

Suggested Bet:  Pirates win at 27/20

Chippa United v SuperSport United – Click here to bet

Chippa United are currently 13th on the log with just 1 point from the last 12 they have played for and they have only won 1 of their last 10 matches.

SuperSport United are 2nd on the table and saw a 6 match run without defeat ended when they lost 1-0 away at Pirates in their last start.

Chippa United have lost their last 3 home matches, but SuperSport United have only taken 2 points from the last 15 they have played for on the road.

I am turning to the head-to-head market for inspiration here and both teams have found the back of the net in 4 of the last 5 head-to-head meetings.

Suggested Bet:  Both teams to sore, YES, at 5/4

Kaizer Chiefs v Stellenbosch – Click here to bet

Chiefs are currently 4th on the log and on a run of 3 successive victories including beating Maritzburg United 3-2 on the road last time out.

Stellenbosch are 8th on the table and also on a good run with 4 wins and a draw from their last 5 starts and that draw came at home against Sundowns in their penultimate start.

Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 3-1 on the road earlier in the season and although Stellenbosch carry great form into this fixture I think that an upward bound Chiefs will continue to move up the table with another 3 points.

Suggested Bet:  Kaizer Chiefs win at 19/20

AmaZulu v Swallows – Click here to bet

AmaZulu are currently 10th on the log with just 1 win in their last 7 starts.  They went down 2-0 away to Stellenbosch last time out.  Swallows are 14th on the log and they have lost 3 of their last 4 matches, but they did beat Chippa United on the road in their last away game.

AmaZulu have won 3 of their last 4 matches against Swallows and I am backing them to go in again in front of their fans.

Suggested Bet:  AmaZulu win at 21/20
