West Ham are currently sitting 14^th on the table and they are coming off a 1-0 home win over Southampton.  They have only won 6 times in 14 home matches, but 3 of those wins have come in their last 5 home games and they are undefeated in their last 5 in front of their own fans.

Newcastle are 3^rd on the log and after a shaky run have strung together 3 successive victories including beating Manchester United 2-0 at home last time out.  Their last away game was a 2-1 win over Nottingham and that win over Nottingham was their first victory in 5 matches on the road.

A closer look at the goal scoring stats of the sides shows West Ham home matches have generally been low scoring with only 3 of the 14 games delivering you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.  Newcastle away matches have been slightly more profitable for overs backers, but only 6 of the 13 games have reached the 3 goal mark.

Newcastle and West Ham played to a 1-1 draw earlier in the season and last season this fixture finished 1-1.

Given West Ham’s improved home record I am expecting a really tight game here and I wouldn’t put anyone off the 1-1 correct score market which is trading as a 5/1 favourite.  I am going to go with the 4 match head-to-heads run of both teams finding the back of the net to continue.

Manchester United are 5^th on the log and they have only taken 1 point from the last 9 they have played for.  They were beaten 2-0 away at Newcastle last time out and their last home game was a disappointing goalless draw with Southampton.

They have only lost once in front of their own fans this season, but have drawn 2 out of their last 3 games at Old Trafford.

Brentford are 7^th on the log and are undefeated in their last 3 games coming off back-to-back draws away at Brighton and at home to Leicester.  They have battled to get 3 pointers on the road this season, winning just 3 of 14 games, but 7 of their away matches have been drawn.

9 of the 13 Manchester United home matches have delivered profits for over 2.3 goal backers and 50% of Brentford games have reached the 3 goal mark this season.

Brentford hammered Manchester United 4-0 at home in the reverse fixture, but last season Manchester United did the double over Brentford winning 3-0 at Old Trafford and 3-1 on the road.

Manchester United appear to have lost their rhythm and I think Brentford have a good chance of getting something out of this.  The value for me lies in the draw at just over 3/1 given that 50% of Brentford’s away games have finished all square.
