English Premier League Betting Preview, Sunday 9 April
April 7, 2023

After a jam packed English Premier League Saturday which included 8 matches we take a look at the 2 fixtures taking place on Sunday from a betting angle.

A quick look at the latest English Premier League betting where we have Arsenal trading as favourites at 15/20 ahead of Manchester City at 23/20.  You can get 500/1 and better the balance.

Leeds v Crystal Palace – Click here to bet

Leeds are clearly 13th on the log having won 2 of their last 3 matches.  Their last win was at home against Nottingham 2-1 and Leeds’s last 4 matches would have all delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers and 3 of those 4 games have had at least 4 goals in them.  Leeds have won 5 and drawn 5 of their 14 home games this season.  Leeds home games have averaged 2.8 goals a match.

Crystal Palace are currently 12th on the log and they broke a 12 match run without a victory and a 4 match losing streak with a 2-1 home win over Leicester last time out.  They have only won twice in 14 attempts on the road this season with 8 defeats and 4 draws and have only taken 1 point from the last 15 they have played for on their travels.  Looking at Crystal Palace goal stats on the road, only 5 of the 14 games would have netted you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals and their matches averaged 2.1 goals each.

Crystal Palace beat Leeds 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and last season Leeds won this fixture 1-0.

Leeds recent matches have seen goals flowing so I am more than happy to take better than even money that we get 3 goals or more in this match.

Suggested Bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 11/10

Liverpool v Arsenal – Click here to bet

Liverpool may be out of the English Premier League Title race, but they can certainly have a say in it when they host Arsenal in the weekend’s final fixture.

Liverpool are currently 8th on the table and they have only taken 1 point from the last 9 they have played for, that been a goalless draw at Chelsea last time out.  They have won 9 and drawn 3 of their 13 home matches this season and 7 of the 13 Liverpool home games have reached the 3 goal mark.

Arsenal are on top of the table, 8 points clear of City and have played a game more at the time of writing.  They have won their last 7 in a row including a 4-1 hammering of Leeds last time out.

Arsenal have scored at least 3 goals in each of their last 5 matches.  They have lost 2 out of 14 matches on the road this season with 1 draw and 11 victories and looking at their goal stats on their travels their away matches averaged 2.6 goals with 6 of the 14 games delivering profits for over 2.5 goal backers.

Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-2 at home earlier in the season and last season Liverpool won this fixture 4-0.

I suspect we are going to get goals in this one, but the bookies have seen us coming with over 2.5 goals priced at 6/10.  As much as Liverpool are capable of stopping Arsenal I think that the Gunners are playing well enough to take the 3 points in another big step towards the Title.

Suggested Bet:  Arsenal win at 29/20
