Benfica v Inter Milan – Click here to bet

Benfica have been in excellent form all season and in the Round of 16 they saw off Club Brugge 7-1 on aggregate winning the home leg 5-1.  They had to qualify for the group stages beating Dynamo Kiev 5-0 on aggregate and then had 2 victories and a draw in their 3 home matches in the group stages.

They had been on an 8 match winning streak across all competitions heading into the weekend, but were stunned 2-1 at home by Porto, a game where they started 8/10 favourites.

Inter beat Porto in the Round of 16 coming through a low scoring tie 1-0 on aggregate thanks to a 1-0 home victory.  They have come through a strong group in 2nd place behind Bayern Munich, losing to the Germans on the road, but going undefeated in the other 2 away matches.

Inter are on a poor run of form that has seen them go 6 matches without a victory in all competitions and a draw in the League on the weekend broke a run of 3 successive losses in that competition.

There is no recent head-to-head form to go on between the sides.

I am going to keep this fairly simple as I cannot believe I am getting above even money on a Benfica win given how well they are playing and how Inter Milan are battling at the moment.

Suggested Bet:  Benfica win at 12/10

Manchester City v Bayern Munich – Click here to bet

This fixture really feels though as if it should have been the final, but these teams meet in the last 8 meaning that one of the giants will not make the semi-finals.

Manchester City drew the 1st leg of their last 16 encounter 1-1 at RB Leipzig, but bounced back strongly with a 7-0 home win to cruise through 8-1 on aggregate.  They had won all 3 of their home matches in the group stages and are coming off a 4-1 away win over Southampton in the Domestic League where they continue to pile the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table.

Bayern Munich have a 100% record in the Champions League this season and they got past, what could have been a tricky test against PSG 3-0 on aggregate.  Their away win in the 1st leg was their 4th away victory in the Champions League this season and they have only conceded 2 goals while scoring 10.

Bayern Munich were dumped out of their Domestic Cup recently, but they had a workmanlike 1-0 win over Freiburg away from home in the League on the weekend.

There is no meaningful and recent head-to-head form to look at.

Manchester City are playing well at the moment, but I would be very nervous to oppose this Bayern Munich team and in fact I am going to back them to get something out of this game.

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Bayern Munich +0.5 goals at 11/10
