Tour de France Stage 13 Betting Preview
July 13, 2023

Stage 13 of the Tour de France takes place on Friday and it promises to be a big day for the GC riders who will take on a summit finish of the Grand Colombier

STAGE 13 WRAP UP

Ion Izagirre gave Cofidis a second stage win of this tour on what was a hectic stage. The breakaway took an age to establish wwith so many riders looking to get up the road and Izagirre found the right move and then went solo just over 31km out.

There were no major changes to any other main competitions aside from Pinot breaking ino the top 10 of the GC andJonas Vingegaard remains 17 second clear of Pogacar in the overall standings

JERSEY UPDATE

There is very little change in the classifications with Pogacar still a 9/10 favourite ahead of Vingegaard at even money in the Yellow Jersey race while Philipsen continues to dominate the Green Jersey competition.  Tadej Pogacar is the favourite for the King of the Mountains at 5/2 and in the Team Classification Ineos Grenadiers are currently 4/6 favourites ahead of leaders, Bahrain Victorious at 9/4.

THE ROUTE

The stage is just shy of 138km in length and the first half of profile is flat. The road begins to rise for the intermediate sprint which is at 87.3km and after a short descent and some flat road the only categorized climb is a huge one and the finish line is at the top of the Grand Colombier (17.4km @7.1%)

VERDICT

This should be more straight forward for the GC teams to control in terms of the composition of the breakaway. It’s not the longest of stages either and those who go up the road will need to have plenty of time in hand when they hit the gruelling final climb.

From the overall contenders for yellow it looks set to be a shoot out between Pogagcar and Vingegaard and if the break is caught slight preference is for Pogagcar.

We are in the high mountains all weekend though so it might be worth looking for a breakaway rider to include for a small interest and Pierre Latour is our long shot.

Suggested Bets:  Pogacar to win at 5/4 and Pierre Latour to win at 80/1
