ALJAMAIN STERLING VS. SEAN O’MALLEY

Bantamweight Main Event: (title fight)

Aljamain Sterling is an extremely talented and experienced Jamaican fighter. He is currently the champion of the Bantamweight division, and he is well known for his abilities in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Sterling hasn’t lost a fight since 2017, which currently puts him on a 9-fight winning streak. It is also important to note that his 4 most recent fights have all been title fights, where he defeated the likes of Petr Yan (twice), TJ Dillashaw as well as Henry Cejudo, who he beat in May this year. As a result of Sterling’s current form, he enters the bout as the favourite.

Sean O’Malley is an American fighter who is known for his smooth striking and ability to get the job done. O’Malley has only lost 1 fight (against Marlon Vera) since entering the UFC and he has not lost any of his last 5 fights, however his penultimate bout was called a draw as a result of no contest.

O’Malley has shown on multiple occasions that he has great TKO power, however entering the fight as the underdog he will be forced to land some clean strikes in order to dethrone the current Champion.

Sterling (4/10)

O’Malley (21/10)

Prediction:

Although Sterling is extremely talented at grappling, I believe that O’Malley’s takedown defence has improved enough to deal with Sterling at the start of the bout and he will put significant pressure on Sterling in the early rounds with his rapid striking and take an upset win in round 2 via TKO.

ZHANG WEILI VS. AMANDA LEMOS

Strawweight Co-Main Event: (title fight)

Zhange Weili, is a Chinese fighter who shows excellence in striking and grappling. She currently holds the Strawweight title after defeating Carla Esparza 9 months ago, making this the second time Weili has been crowned champion of this division.

She has won 7 of her 9 UFC fights, with both of her losses being to Rose Namajunas in title fights.

Amanda Lemos is a Brazilian fighter who takes her first shot at a UFC title this weekend. She is a talented striker who is 7-2 in the UFC with her only losses to Leslie Smith (TKO) and Jessica Andrade (Submission).

Lemos has been given the opportunity for a title fight due to her previous 2 fights ending in victory by stoppage.

Weili (3/10)

Lemos (27/10)

Prediction:

Weili enters the octagon this weekend as a more well-rounded fighter than Lemos and although it should be exciting, I believe that Weili will win in round 3 via submission.

NEIL MAGNY VS. IAN GARRY

Welterweight Co-Main Event:

Neil Magny is a UFC veteran who has been involved with the organisation for 10 years. He has remained a solid welterweight competitor throughout his career, and he has won 5 of his 7 fights in the UFC, with his most recent being a split decision win over Philip Rowe just a few months ago.

Ian Garry is a young fighter who made his UFC debut in 2021, since then he has won all 5 of his professional fights and he is looking to climb the rankings in the welterweight division. Garry enters this fight coming off a TKO win over Daniel Rodriguez earlier this year.

Magny (3/1)

Garry (1/4)

Prediction:

Magny’s experience in the UFC will act as a threat to Garry, but I believe the younger fighter will have more in the tank and Garry will win in round 3 via TKO.

Suggested Bets:

Aljamain Sterling Vs. Sean O’Malley

O’Malley to cause an upset at 21/10

Zhang Weili Vs. Amanda Lemos

Weili to win by submission at 9/2

Neil Magny Vs. Ian Garry

Over 2.5 rounds at 23/20
