There are two DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Friday night and we take a look at both of them from a betting angle.

Royal AM v Stellenbosch – Click here to bet

Royal AM have taken 1 point from their opening 2 games.  They played out a goalless draw at home to AmaZulu first up and were then beaten 4-2 away at Orlando Pirates, a game where they went 3-0 down after 35 minutes and although they pulled this back to 3-2 in the 88th minute, Pirates had the final say in injury time.

Stellenbosch have taken 3 points from their first 2 games and those 3 points all came on the first match of the season when they beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 at home.  They were then away to Newcomers, Polokwane and lost 1-0 on the road going down to a 35th minute own goal.

Stellenbosch were in MTN 8 Cup action on the weekend beating SuperSport United in extra time.

Both fixtures between these sides finished 3-1 last season with the home team winning on each occasion.  The last 3 meetings between these sides has seen 4 goals scored and that is enough to tempt me into backing over 2.5 goals in this one.

Suggested Bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 13/10

SuperSport United v Cape Town City – Click here to bet

SuperSport United are currently 3rd on the log on 4 points from their 2 matches.  They opened their account with a 2-0 home win over Richards Bay before playing out a goalless draw at AmaZulu.

SuperSport were also in MTN 8 Cup action on the weekend where they drew 0-0 with Stellenbosch at home only to lose to a goal in extra time.

Cape Town City are 2nd on the table, 3 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns with a game in hand.  They along with Sundowns are the only teams left with a 100% record.  They beat newcomers, Polokwane 1-0 at home on the opening weekend and followed that up with a 1-0 victory over Swallows on the road.

Cape Town City were at home to Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN 8 Cup on the weekend going down 2-1.

SuperSport did the double over Cape Town City last season and they have won their last 3 League matches in a row against them.  SuperSport United had very strong home record last season, but I have been impressed with what I have seen of Cape Town City and think they can come away from this with a point.

Suggested Bet:  The draw at 9/4
