DSTV Premiership Betting Preview, Tuesday 29 August

world sports betting soccer previews

There are two DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Tuesday and we suggest a bet in each of them.

Let’s start with a look at the latest Outright Betting where Mamelodi Sundowns have shortened into 1/5 favourites to defend their Title.  SuperSport United are 7/1, Pirates 10/1, you can get 20/1 Chiefs and 33/1 and better the balance.

It is surely only a matter of time before bookmakers start pricing up without Mamelodi Sundowns.

SuperSport United v Golden Arrows – Click here to bet

SuperSport are 2nd on the log, 5 points behind Sundowns, but with a game in hand.  They are undefeated after their opening 4 matches with 3 victories and a draw and last time out beat Stellenbosch 2-1 away from home.  Their last game was a 1-0 win over Cape Town City.

Golden Arrows are 4th on the log with 1 defeat in their opening 4 matches.  They were full value for a 3-2 home win over Polokwane last time out and their only defeat came in the match before that when they went down 4-0 away to Mamelodi Sundowns and their other away game was a 2-1 victory at Richards Bay.

The home team tends to have the advantage in fixtures between these sides with 2-1 home victories in both head-to-head’s last season. In fact the last 4 meetings between the sides have gone to the home team and it has me leaning towards SuperSport at 8/10, but I actually prefer both teams to score, yes, at a slightly bigger price of 21/20

Arrows games have had plenty of goals this season with all 4 delivering profits for over 2.5 goal backers.  3 out of 4 having both teams find the net and both teams have scored in the last 4 League meetings between the sides.

Suggested Bet:  Both teams to score, YES, at 21/20

Orlando Pirates v Cape Town City – Click here to bet

Orlando Pirates are 10th on the log with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss in their opening 3 matches.  they were last in action on the 15th August when they drew 1—1 at Chippa United and their only home game this season was a convincing 4-2 win over Royal AM.

Much was expected of Cape Town City this season and they currently sit 8th on the log after 4 matches, but they have lost their last 2 games having taken the maximum 6 points from their first 2 matches.  Last time out they went down 1-0 at home to Sekhukhune and the match before that lost 1-0 at SuperSport United.  All 4 of Cape Town City matches this season have finished with exactly 1 goal in them.

The visitors won’t be easy to break down here, but Pirates look in good form to me and I am backing them to beat Cape Town City at home, something they achieved last season and in 2 of their last 3 home matches against Cape Town City.

Suggested Bet:  Pirates win at 17/20
