Coco Gauff will take on Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open’s Women’s Final starting late Saturday night, South African time. We take a look at the Final from a betting angle.
COCO GAUFF
Gauff the 6th seed was given a stern test in her semi-final, but came through with flying colours beating 10th seed Muchova 6-4, 7-5. Her quarter-final had been one-way traffic against 20th seed, Ostapenko winning 6-0 and 6-2. She was however pushed to a 3rd set in her Round of 16 clash against Wozniacki winning 6-1 in the 3rd and also in her Round of 32 clash against Mertens where she won 6-0 in the 3rd.
Gauff has made the Final of the US Open before in 2021 and is yet to win a Grand Slam Tournament.
ARYNA SABALENKA
Sabalenka the 2nd seed looked in desperate trouble in her semi-final when she lost the first set 6-0 to Madison Keyes before coming back to win the next two sets in tie breakers. Like her opponent in the Final, Sabalenka had a much easier quarter-final with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Zheng, the 23rd seed and she also came through a Round of 16 clash conceding only 4 games against Kasatkina, the 13th seed.
Sabalenka has one Grand Slam Title to her credit, the Australian Open won earlier this year and this is her best performance in the US Open.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This will be the 6th meeting between the pair and Gauff leads 3-2 but Sabalenka won their last meeting.

Gauff is looking in excellent form, but I was really impressed with Sabalenka in her semi-final as she had looked down and out before her great comeback against Madison Keyes.
Sabalenka has the big match temperament and has won a Grand Slam already this year and I think she could win what should be a titanic struggle.
