After pulling one back in the third ODI to make the score 2-1, the Proteas will be looking to keep their chances of winning the series alive  in the 4th ODI at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium on Friday. In this article, we take a look at the match from a betting angle.

3RD ODI

In the third ODI at the Senwes Park, Australia won the toss and opted to bowl.

The South African batsmen started strong, with the two openers putting on 146 runs before the first wicket fell. Markham top scored with 102 runs, playing a crucial role in the Proteas’ total of 338 runs. They only lost six wickets, with Travis Head being the top wicket-taker for the Australian side with two wickets at just under 4 an over.

Australia’s openers put on a quick fire 79 runs at over 10 an over before losing their first wicket. At that point it didn’t look as though the Proteas were going to defend their total but the Australians were eventually bowled out for a total of 227 runs in the 34th over after struggling to build any substantial partnerships. Coetzee played a pivotal role in the bowling attack taking four wickets in just 6.3 overs and consistently pressuring the Australian batsmen throughout their innings.

David Warner top scored for the visitors with 78 at a strike rate of 139 and Shamsi and Maharaj supported Coetzee with 2 wickets a piece at an economical rate.

South Africa 13/10

Australia 13/20

Despite losing the previous contest, Australia are still favourites to take the win at the SuperSport Park

Suggested Bet:  Top South African Batsman Temba Bavuma at 3/1

Despite not topping the batting in the last ODI, Bavuma has managed to score over 40 runs in all three matches and he is often the anchor of the South African innings.

Suggested Bet:  Soth Africa top Bowler Tabraiz Shamsi at 23/10

After his strong performance in the second ODI and a similarly impressive display in the 3rd I am backing him to be amongst the wickets and to deliver top SA bowler returns.
