WEDNESDAY
ITALY v URUGUAY – Click here to bet
Italy were in action in the opening week of the World Cup beating Namibia 52-8 after losing 33-17 against Ireland away in their first warm-up game. They beat Romania by 50 points and Japan by 21 points.
Uruguay opened +57.5 point for their fixture against France last Thursday night and they were backed into +50.5 favourites at the off. They justified that money in some style going down by just 15 points to a French side missing many of their star players.
Uruguay had warmed up for the Tournament with an 8 point win over Namibia and a 1 point win over Chile.
These sides have only met once before and that was in a friendly International back in 2021 with Italy winning 17-10.
Handicap: -26.5
Uruguay were excellent against France and Italy can’t afford to take their eye off the ball. For a play we look for the first try scorer and Italy’s star man Ange Capuozzo gets the vote
Suggested Bet: 1st Tryscorer Ange Capuozzo at 13/2

FRIDAY
FRANCE V NAMIBIA – Click here to bet
After beating New Zealand 37-13 in their opening game France turned in a less than impressive performance to edge past Uruguay 27-12 last week. With two wins under their belt they will forgive themselves for not putting Uruguay away and they look to be coasting towards finishing top of Pool A.
Namibia’s first game was a 44 point defeat to Italy and they were then blown off the park 71-3 by New Zealand last week.
While both games are playing their third game of the Tournament, Namibia don’t hag the sort of depth in the squad that France have and they can be expected to take strain. These sides have met twice with France winning 47-13 in the 1999 Rugby World Cup and then they hammered Namibia 87-10 in the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Handicap: -64.5
France made wholesale changes for the Uruguay game but were still well below par. There should be a reaction from Les Bleus here, hopefully enough to cover the main handicap line
Suggested Bet: Handicap France -64.5 points at 10//11
