The UEFA Champions League gets going on Tuesday night and we take a look at 4 of the matches from a betting angle.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting as we head into this Tournament, Manchester City are currently trading as favourites at 2/1 ahead of Bayern Munich at 11/2, you can get 8/1 Real Madrid, 10/1 Arsenal and 14/1 and better the balance.

AC Milan v Newcastle – Click here to bet

This is a Group F match and the other two teams in the Group are PSG and Dortmund.  PSG are favourites for the group at 23/20 with Newcastle next best in the betting at 95/40, AC Milan are 9/2 and Dortmund are the outsiders at 11/2.

AC Milan come into this game after a shock 5-1 away defeat to rivals Inter on the weekend.  That broke a run of 5 successive victories including 3 wins in a row in the League.

Newcastle had a 1-0 winner over Brentford in the EPL over the weekend and that broke a run of 3 successive League losses.

It is the first time the sides are meeting in a competitive match.

I am not sure what to read into AC Milan’s defeat over the weekend, but will give them the benefit of the doubt that they were targeting this fixture which I think will be as close as the betting suggests.

Suggested Bet:  The draw at 12/5

Manchester City v Belgrade –Click here to bet

This is a Group G clash and it looks like one of the softer groups with Manchester City 1/9 favourites ahead of Leipzig a 6/1, you can get 55/1 Belgrade and Young Boys.

City have been in excellent form in the English Premier League where they have a 100% record so far this season.  They beat West Ham 3-1 on the road on the weekend, a game where they started 6/2 favourites.

Belgrade have lost 2 of their last 3 games including going down 2-1 away to Cukaricki on the road on the weekend, a game where Belgrade started 1/3 favourites to win the match.

Belgrade are massive 35/1 to win this first ever encounter between the sides, but I expect City are going to be all business and will get the job done with room to spare.

Suggested Bet:  Manchester City, Total Goals over 3.5 goals at 5/6

For those looking for a bigger odds play how about  Correct Score 5-0 to City at 8/1

Barcelona v Antwerp – Click here to bet

This is a Group H clash where Barcelona are trading as 4/11 favourites to win the group with Porto at 27/10, Shakhtar Donetsk are 18/1 and Antwerp are the rank outsiders at 22/1.

Barcelona have been in excellent form domestically winning their last 4 games in a row including a very impressive 5-0 home victory over Betis on the weekend.

Antwerp had to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League and they beat AEK Athens 3-1 on aggregate to book their spot.  They are undefeated in their last 6 matches across all competitions.

This will be the first meeting between the sides and I expect Barcelona to justify 2/11 favouritism and to win this game by 3 goals or more.

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Barcelona -2.5 goals at 5/4

PSG v Dortmund – Click here to bet

These sides are in Group F with Newcastle and AC Milan and the Outright Betting is covered up the page.

PSG suffered a shock 3-2 home defeat to Nice in the League on the weekend, a game where they started 11/20 favourites.  They had previously been unbeaten in the League after 4 matches with 2 draws and 2 victories.  Both teams have found the back of the net in PSG‘s last 4 matches.

Dortmund are undefeated in the domestic league this season and they beat Freiburg 4-2 away on the weekend and they have won 2 and drawn 2 of their 4 matches.

These 2 sides last met in the Champions League 2019/20 season, PSG winning 3-2 on aggregate.

I am writing the weekend loss for PSG down to the fact that they were focusing on this fixture and rightly so as Dortmund are in great form.

I was looking at over 2.5 goals, but 8/15 is a bit short and I am going to back the draw at a very tempting price.

Suggested Bet:  The draw at 16/5
