LA LIGA PREVIEWS

We take a look at 5 of The La Liga matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each of them.

Real Madrid remain firm favourites at 7/10 to win the La Liga Title with their long-time rivals, Barcelona 2nd in the betting at 13/10, you can get 11/1 Atlético Madrid and 100/1 and better the balance.

There are plenty of other markets including Top 4 Betting, betting “Without Real Madrid and Barcelona” and Top Goal Scorer.

SATURDAY

Barcelona v Celta de Vigo – Click here to bet

Barcelona are 2nd on the table 2 points behind Real Madrid with 4 victories and 1 draw in their opening 5 games.  They were 3/10 to see off Betis at home last time and hammered them 5-0 and have won both games at home this season.

Celta de Vigo are currently 16th on the log with just 1 win in their opening 5 matches that came in their penultimate start 3-2 away to Almeria and last time out they lost 1-0 at home to Mallorca.

Celta de Vigo have a habit of giving Barcelona a hard time and I am going to back the home team to win this, but only by a goal.

Suggested Bet:  Handicap, Barcelona -1, the draw at 29/10

Almeria v Valencia – Click here to bet

Almeria are sitting bottom of the table with just 1 point from 5 matches.  They have lost all 3 of their home games this season scoring 3 goals and conceding 8.

Valencia are currently 5th on the log with 3 victories and 2 defeats in their opening 5 matches.  They beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 at home last time out, a game where they started 5/2 underdogs.  Their last away game was a 1-0 defeat to Alaves.

Valencia are the favourites for this game at 29/20 and based on current form I expected them to be a bit shorter.

Suggested Bet:  Valencia win at 29/20

SUNDAY

Betis v Cadiz – Click here to bet

Betis are currently 10th on the table after getting hammered 5-0 on the road by Barcelona last time out.  Their last home game was a 1-0 win over Rayo Vallecano and they are unbeaten in 2 home matches this season.

Cadiz are currently 8th on the log with 7 points out of possible 15.  They lost 3-0 on the road to Athletic Bilbao last time out and their other away game was a 2-0 loss to Barcelona.

Cadiz won this fixture 2-0 last season and with Betis confidence having taken a knock against Barcelona I think we could be in for an upset win.

Suggested Bet:  Cadiz win at 7/2

Las Palmas v Granada – Click here to bet

These sides are currently sitting in the relegation zone with Las Palmas on 2 points from 5 games and Granada on 3 from their 5 matches.

Las Palmas 5 games have been low scoring with a total of only 5 goals in them and under 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in each match.  Both their home games have been draws this season.

Granada have won 1 and lost 4 of their opening 5 matches and by contrast to Las Palmas the goals have flowed with 4 of their 5 games delivering profits had you backed over 3.5 goals in the match.

The home team won on each occasion last season.

It is always intriguing when a team playing in low scoring matches meets one where the goals are flowing and I am going to take a view that they will continue to flow in Granada games.

Suggested Bet:  Over 2.5 goals at 11/10

Atlético Madrid v Real Madrid – Click here to bet

This is the clash of the weekend with Atlético Madrid sitting 7th, 8 points behind Real Madrid, but with a game in hand.  They were going well with 7 points out of a possible 9 when they visited Valencia last time out and they never recovered from conceding the lead in the 5th minute and lost 3-0.  Prior to that they had hammered Rayo Vallecano 7-0 on the road.

Real Madrid have a 100% record after 5 matches including 3 away wins to start the season.  Last time out they beat Real Sociedad 2-1 at home.

This fixture finished 2-1 to Real Madrid last season with the reverse fixture finishing 1-1.

The bookies can’t split the pair and at the time of writing they both are trading at 22/30 with the draw at 12/5.  I am going to turn to the goals market where under 2.5 goals is trading at 17/20.  This would have missed only once in the last 8 meetings between the sides.

Suggested Bet:  Under 2.5 goals at 17/20
