NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand won their opening match against England by 9 wickets.

In their second World Cup game against the Netherlands, New Zealand lost the toss and were sent in to bat.

Their top-order batsmen made significant contributions, helping the team reach a total score of 322 runs while losing only seven wickets in the 50 overs played. Young, Ravindra, and Latham all got half-centuries, with Mitchell narrowly missing out by just two runs.

The Netherlands began their innings slowly but managed to pick up the pace thanks to contributions from their middle-order batsmen. However, they were bowled out for 223 runs in the 47th over by the powerful New Zealand attack. Mitchell Stander’s outstanding performance included taking 5 wickets in the 10 overs he bowled, leading his team to their second victory in this year’s World Cup by 99 runs.

BANGLADESH

Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets in their opening match.

Bangladesh’s second game of the World Cup saw them face England, where they won the toss and opted to bowl.

Bangladesh struggled early, allowing the English side to score freely in the early overs. Despite clawing back in the last ten overs, England scored 364-9 in the 50 overs. Mahedi Hasan picked up 4-71 in 8 overs and Shoriful Islam got 3-75 in 10 overs.

Bangladesh start poorly, losing four wickets in the first ten overs. However, they gained some momentum with Das and Rahim both scoring half-centuries. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough as Bangladesh were bowled out for a total of 227 runs to lose by 137 runs.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The last time these two teams met, was in a three-game series in Bangladesh in September. In the three games that were played, New Zealand managed to take two wins and the 1st ODI was called off.

New Zealand 1/3

Bangladesh 12/5

Suggested Bet:  Top bowler Rachin Ravindra at 15/4

In his last two games, Ravindra scored a century in one and a half-century in the other. This form, combined with coming up against a not very strong Bangladesh bowling lineup, could see Ravindra scoring plenty of runs again.

Suggested Bet:  Bangladesh to be under 21.5 runs at the first dismissal at 17/20

As we witnessed in their last game, Bangladesh is susceptible to losing early wickets and New Zealand have the attack to capitalize on this vulnerability.
