INDIA

India opened their account with a win over Australia in their opener and they then played Afghanistan in Delhi on Wednesday.

Afghanistan won the toss and batted 1st, with India applying early pressure through Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah.

Afghanistan managed to put 272 runs on the board with India picking up 8 wickets across the 50 overs. Star Indian bowler for the match was Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up 4 wickets in his 10 over spell, going for just 39 runs.

India then hit the crease looking dominant from the start with the first wicket only falling after 156 runs were scored. Rohit Sharma put in a massive performance scoring 131 runs off just 84 balls and he was well supported by Virat Kholi who managed to put up a half century, scoring 55 runs not out and leading India to victory by 8 wickets.

PAKISTAN

Pakistan beat the Netherlands by 81 runs in their opening game and  their 2nd game  was on Tuesday in Hyderabad, where they faced off against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan hit the field first after Sri Lanka chose to bat and they struck early with Hasan Ali picking up the first wicket after just 5 runs were scored.

Thereafter the Sri Lankan side were able to stabilise and put up a total of 344 runs in their 50 overs.

Hasan Ali topped the bowling figures table after picking up 4 wickets in his 10 overs for 71 runs. An honourable mention goes to Haris Rauf who picked up another 2 wickets for 64 runs in his 10 overs.

Pakistan lost 2 relatively early wickets in the chase, with Babar Azam going out for just 10 runs his 2nd failure in as many games.

Abdullah Shafique and Mohammed Rizwan were the saviours for Pakistan, with Shafique scoring 113 runs and Rizwan finishing the match on 131 not out after 121 balls, bringing the win home for Pakistan with 10 balls remaining in the game and 6 wickets in hand.

India 9/20

Pakistan 18/10

HEAD-TO-HEAD

India have not lost a single 1 of their last 5 games against Pakistan with 4 of these being in the Asia Cup where India won 3 and there was 1 no result. The other game was when they met in the ICC World Cup 2019, where India won by 89 runs.

Suggested Bet: Top Pakistan Bowler – Haris Rauf at 2/1

Rauf showed some solid form against Sri Lanka in the last match having been on fire against Netherlands in the opener. I expect him to hold form and give me a run for my money here.

Suggested Bet: Rohit Sharma to score 50 + runs at 13/10

Sharma is in excellent form and his century against Afghanistan was top drawer. Another 50 is on the cards.
