PAKISTAN
In their first four games, Pakistan have won two and lost two, placing them in 5th position on the table with four points.
In their recent match against Australia, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field. The Australian batsmen immediately applied pressure to the Pakistan bowlers, accumulating 259 runs before the first wicket fell in the 34th over. Pakistan managed to take a few wickets and slow down the Australian scoring rate, limiting them to a total of 367 runs after fifty overs. Shaheen Afridi was the standout bowler, taking five of the nine wickets claimed by Pakistan at an economy rate of 5.4 runs per over.
Pakistan’s openers, while not as successful as their Australian counterparts, performed relatively well, both scoring half-centuries and putting together a partnership of 134 runs before losing their first wicket in the 22nd over. The middle-order batsmen made a decent effort, but it wasn’t sufficient, as they were eventually bowled out for 305 runs in the 46th over, resulting in Pakistan’s second loss of the tournament by 62 runs.
AFGHANISTAN
Afghanistan have won only one in their first four games and lost the other three, leaving them at the bottom of the table.
In their recent match against New Zealand, Afghanistan won the toss and chose to field. They only managed to take one wicket in the first ten overs, allowing New Zealand to build a strong foundation. The Afghanistan bowlers stuck to their task though and New Zealand ended with a total of 288 runs, with Afghanistan taking six wickets. Naveen-ul-Haq and Omarzai were the only two bowlers to take more than one wicket, each securing two wickets with the formers coming at the better run rate.
Afghanistan began badly losing two early wickets, setting the tone for the rest of their innings. They struggled to form substantial partnerships as New Zealand’s bowlers dominated. Afghanistan was eventually bowled out for 139 runs in the 35th over, resulting in their third loss of the tournament, by a massive 149 runs. Shah top scored with 36 at a strike rate of only 58.06

Pakistan 7/20
Afghanistan 9/4
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These two teams met earlier this year in a three-game series in Afghanistan, with Pakistan winning all three games.
Suggested Bet:Â Afghanistan to be over 26.5 runs at the first dismissal at 17/20
Afghanistan’s openers have been solid this tournament and they tend to get off to steady starts.
Suggested Bet: Mohammad Rizwan total runs scored to be over 30.5 at 17/20
Rizwan has displayed remarkable consistency in this World Cup, having scored a half-century and a century in his first two games and narrowly missing his half-century in the next two matches. With this exceptional form, he looks worth backing to deliver another solid knock.
