There are two Serie A matches taking place on Monday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

At the time of writing Udinese are 17^th on the log without a win in their opening 8 games.  They have managed to draw 5 of those 8 matches though.  Last time out they played a goalless draw away at Empoli and their last home game was a 2-2 draw with Genoa.  They have played 4 matches at home, drawing 2 and losing 2 and they have scored 2 goals in those 4 matches while conceding 7.

Lecce are 10^th on the log, but have only taken 1 point from the last 9 they have played for.  They drew 1-1 at home to Sassuolo last time out and that broke a run of successive losses at home to Napoli and away to Juventus.  Prior to that they had started the season with 3 wins and 2 draws.  Lecce have yet to win on the road in 3 attempts taking 2 points from a possible 9.

This fixture finished 1-1 last season and Lecce won the reverse fixture 1-0.

I was looking at an under 2.5 goals play based on their meetings last season, but the 7/10 is too short for me and I think the value lies with the draw.

FIORENTINA v EMPOLI – Click here to bet

Fiorentina are currently 4^th on the log with 5 wins and 2 draws and a loss in their opening 8 games.  They are undefeated in their last 5 games and are coming off back-to-back wins, 3-1 away at Napoli, a game where they started at 9/2 for the win, and 3-0 at home to Cagliari, a match where they were 11/20 to take all 3 points.  They have taken 7 points from a possible 9 in their 3 home games this season.

Empoli are currently 18^th on the log with just 1 win and a draw in their opening 8 games.  They have only scored 1 goal in that time while conceding 16.  They drew 0-0 at home to Udinese in their last start and their last away game was a 3-0 loss to Bologna and overall on the road this season they have yet to take a point from 3 matches.  Empoli have yet to score a goal on the road this season in 3 matches and they have conceded 12.

These sides drew in both meetings last season and this fixture finished 1-1.

Fiorentina are looking in great form and with Empoli conceding an average of 4 goals a game on the road I am happy to back the home team on the handicap of -1 goal here.
