SOUTH AFRICA

Proteas are currently sitting 3rd on the log having won 3 of their 4 games.

South Africa took on reigning champions England this past Saturday in Mumbai, where England won the toss and elected to field first.

South Africa were in early trouble with De Kock being dismissed with just 4 runs on the board but thereafter Van Der Dussen and Hendricks put up a solid partnership, stabilising the innings. Klaasen came in at 5 and together with Jansen put up a massive 151 partnership for the 6th wicket with the Proteas getting 399/7 in their 50 overs. The best batting performance came from Klaasen, scoring 109 runs off 67 balls a strike rate of 162,69.

The South African bowlers were on top form from the start and they took crucial early wickets never letting England get into the chase.  They bowled them out for just 170 runs, winning the match by 229 runs. Gerald Coetzee delivered for top bowler backers taking 3 wickets in his 4 overs although he was one of the more expensive going for 8.75 runs an over.

BANGLADESH

They currently sits in 6th on the World Cup table, having won 1 and lost 3 of their games.

Bangladesh took on India in their last encounter on Thursday in Pune where they won the toss and chose to bat first.

They started off their innings with a good opening partnership between Hasan and Das, however after the first wicket fell at 93 runs, the batting line-up fell apart and struggled to gain any traction until the lower order batsmen, Rahim and Mahmudullah put up a few runs at the death. Bangladesh reached a total of 256 runs for 8 wickets in their 50 overs. The top Bangladesh batsman on the day was Litton Das, who scored a steady 66 runs off 82 balls, including 7 fours.

The Bangladesh bowling line-up didn’t fire against the Indian batting order, only taking 3 wickets with India winning comfortably by 7 wickets and with 51 balls to spare. The top Bangladesh bowler was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who took 2 wickets for 47 runs in his 10 over spell.

South Africa (2/9)

Bangladesh (3/1)

HEAD-TO-HEAD

In their last 5 encounters, Bangladesh have won 3 of times, with South Africa winning 2. Bangladesh won the most recent 3-match series that took place last year in South Africa by 2-1, with them winning the final game by a massive 9 wickets at Supersport Park.

Suggested Bet: South Africa Top Bowler – Marco Jansen at 27/10

Jansen has been phenomenal in the tournament so far and he should prove a handful for the Bangladesh batsmen.

Suggested Bet: Bangladesh Total Sixes – over 4.5 at 17/20

Bangladesh have managed to hit 7-8 sixes in their last 3 games of this World Cup so this seems a decent price
