NETBALL WORLD CUP FINAL

England and Australia will meet in the Final of the Netball World Cup in Cape Town on Sunday and we take a look at the final match of the Tournament as well as suggest a couple of other bets on the day.

Let’s start with a look at a 2 of the matches taking place earlier in the day.

South Africa v Uganda – 5th Place Playoff – Click here to bet

South Africa were comfortable winners 72-46 over Tonga and Uganda beat Malawi 57-46 to book their place in the 5th place playoff.

These sides met in the second phase of the Tournament with Uganda coming back from 14 goals down at half-time to lose by just 2.

I expect the Proteas to be fired up for this and predict they will win a tight one.

Suggested Bet:  South Africa by 1-10 goals at 12/10

Bronze Medal Match – New Zealand v Jamaica – Click here to bet

New Zealand were always up against it with England and were also right there with minutes remaining.  The English proved too strong winning 46-40 in a game dominated by defence.

Jamaica certainly had their chances to beat Australia in their semi-final and they led quite deep into the 4th quarter.  A couple of crucial errors cost them and they ended up losing 54-57.

New Zealand and Jamaica met in the second phase of the Tournament with Jamaica winning 59-48 including a brilliant fourth quarter where they won by 9 goals.

I am expecting another tight game with Jamaica edging it

Suggested Bet:  Jamaica win by 1-10 goals at 27/20

The Final – England v Australia – Click here to bet

England were 4th in the betting when the Tournament started, but they performed above expectations and they were full value for their 46-40 win over New Zealand after the first 3 quarters all incredibly finished level and they won the final quarter 14-8.

Australia are the ruling Tournament favourites and they showed their class when they overcame Jamaica in a tough semi-final.  The first 2 quarters were both drawn before Australia took a 2 goal lead into the final quarter.  Jamaica grabbed the lead later on only for Australia to claw back and win 57-54.

Australia and England had met in the second phase of the Tournament and England came back from a 6 goal deficit at half-time to win an absolute thriller 56-55 with goal shooter, Hausby the star of the show with a 100% conversion rate.

I quite like under 110.5 goals at 17/20 as think both teams will put huge effort into defence but given they beat Australia a few days ago I cannot resist the 2/1 England.

Suggested Bet:  England win at 2/1
