The 3rd of 4 ODI’s between England and New Zealand takes place at The Oval on Wednesday and we take a look at the match from a betting angle.
New Zealand chased down 292 inside 46 overs to win the 1st ODI in Cardiff, but England bounced back to level the series in Southampton winning a low scoring match (mainly as it was reduced to 34 overs) by 79 runs.
2nd ODI
New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first at The Rose Bowl and it appeared to be an inspired decision as they took the first 3 England wickets before there were 10 runs on the board. The top 4 batsmen only contributed 9 runs between them, but there was solid contributions from the middle order and Liam Livingstone scored what proved to be a match winning 95 off 78 balls, batting at 7. Buttler, Ali and at the end of the innings Curran with 42 off 35 offered excellent support.
Trent Boult was the Top New Zealand bowler with 3 for 37 in 7 overs.
New Zealand lost Finn Allen for a duck, but they appeared to be on track and they were 111 for 4 well in the match. Their bottom 6 batsmen contributed only 18 runs between them as New Zealand collapsed to 147 all out in 26.5 overs. Top score was Darryl Mitchell with his 57 with a strike rate of 109 and Willey and Topley each got 3 wickets for the English, Topley the more economical with 3 for 27 off 7 overs.

England 40/85
New Zealand 16/10
These sides cannot be separated after 4 T20’s and 2 ODI’s each having won 3 games and for that reason I am battling to get my head around the fact that England are such strong favourites here and I think New Zealand have to be backed at current prices.
Suggested Bet: New Zealand win at 16/10.
Harry Brook had an excellent T20 Series and he hasn’t quite fired yet in the ODI’s, but he is a player that England are banking on for great things in the future and I am backing him to deliver the top bat spoils.
Suggested Bet: Top England Batter, Harry Brook at 28/10
