DSTV Premiership Betting Preview Friday 20 January
January 19, 2023

There are two DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Friday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Cape Town City v TS Galaxy – Click here to bet

Cape Town City are currently 8th on the table and they are coming off a 1-1 away draw against Chippa United.  Their last home game was a 2-1 win over Pirates and they have won 3 of their last 4 home games.

TS Galaxy are 11th on the log and they are on an undefeated run of 7 matches although 6 of those games have been draws and amazingly their last 3 games finished goalless, most recently away at Swallows.

TS Galaxy matches have only averaged 1 goal each this season which must be something of a record at this stage.  Cape Town City games averaged 2.1 goals each.  Translating those stats into something relevant for Sports Betters, 6 of the 16 Cape Town City matches have delivered profits for over 2.5 goal backers while only 2 of 16 Galaxy matches have reached the 3 goal mark.

While tempted by the goalless draw which is offered at 9/2 in the correct score market, I think that Cape Town City are on the up and I am going to back them to win this one.

Suggested Bet:  Cape Town City win at 21/20

Sekhukhune v Swallows – Click here to bet

Sekhukhune are currently 7th on the log and they are undefeated in their last 5 and they have won their last 3 in a row.  Their most recent win was a 1-0 away victory at Stellenbosch.

Swallows are 14th on the log and last time out played in a goalless draw at home to Galaxy.  Prior to that they beat Chippa United 2-0 at home.  Swallows away record is the worst in the Division and they have yet to win a game in 8 away matches, drawing 4 and losing 4.

Swallows last 7 matches have all had 2 goals or less in them and 5 of the last 6 Sekhukhune matches have had 1 goal or less in them.

Under 2.5 goals seems the obvious pick here, but the bookies are certainly on to this one and it is priced at 14/10.  Sekhukhune United are looking for their 4th win in a row while playing some good football and I am going to take the 23/20 they win the match.

If you fancy a double Cape Town City and Sekhukhune both to win their games it is currently at 33/10.

Suggested Bet:  Sekhukhune win at 23/20
