Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

This policy explains how WSB Sports News (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website at wsbnews.co.za or our mobile applications (together, the “Service”).

In short: WSB Sports News is a free sports news reader. We do not require an account, we do not ask for personal details, and we do not sell or share personal information. The Service contains no gambling or betting functionality.

Information we collect

We have designed the Service to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:

Push notifications

Our mobile app can send notifications about breaking sports stories. Notifications are entirely optional and are only enabled if you grant permission when your device asks.

If you allow notifications, your device provides an anonymous push token that lets us deliver alerts to that device. This token is not linked to your name or contact details. You can switch notifications off at any time in your device settings, and we will stop sending them.

Local storage on your device

The Service stores a small amount of data on your own device so that pages load quickly and recent articles remain readable when you are offline. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data or reinstalling the app removes it.

Children

The Service is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party content and links

Articles may occasionally reference other organisations or link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit.

Content and gambling

The Service publishes editorial sports journalism only. It provides no facility to place a bet, no odds, and no access to gambling products. Betting-related material and links are filtered out of articles before they are published to the Service.

Data security

All traffic to and from the Service is encrypted using HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect the Service, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal accounts or profiles, there is generally no personal data for us to retrieve, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and would like to ask about it, please contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we introduce analytics or new features. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app before they take effect.
